Information For Weddings:

Types of Music and Instruments Available: (You can have music for either or both the ceremony/reception)

CEREMONY: Ed Hartman Solo Vibraphone, Marimba (or DUO with Flute, Trumpet or Clarinet) Music includes: Wedding March, Trumpet Voluntary, Pachelbel's Canon, Ave Maria, AND many other favorite classical or popular songs! Original or specialty music can be requested as well.

RECEPTION: Ed Hartman and the Olympic Marimba Band performs music from around the world. Usually, the band will start out with light jazz and latin standards for the receiving line, coctails, and dinner. Dancing music can be a mix of jazz, latin and world-beat styles.

The Olympic Marimba Band is famous for it's all-out aerobic limbo/conga-line workout sets for those who want to sweat!

The usual rituals (first dance, throwing of the bouquet, etc.) can be customized to YOUR needs. Specialty songs can be requested ahead of time.

Dress: For ceremonies and private parties, the band can dress in tux, suits, or casual. For most events and receptions, Ed Hartman and the Olympic Marimba Band dress in colorful attire (classic Hawaiian shirts, etc.)



Performance:
Ed Hartman has recorded and performed with numerous bands, orchestras, dance and theatre co’s including: Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel, Tickle Tune Typhoon, and Ellipsis. In the Northwest, he has become a top freelance percussionist and recording artist. As a soloist, Ed has performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in NYC. His own band The Olympic Marimba Band performs music from around the world, while The Olympic Marimba Duo, with Don Dieterich, performs jazz and classical arrangements for mallet instruments and percussion.
Education/Teaching:
Originally from Chicago, Ed received his degree in percussion from Indiana University. Ed Hartman has written articles, sheet music and books about music for Olympic Publications, and C. Alan Publications. His albums "The River", and "Northwest Passage", have received national critical acclaim. "Marimbells of Christmas" has been heard on television, "Twas the Night" (HBO) and "Passions", (NBC), and in the motion pictures, "Surviving Christmas" (Dreamworks). Other film credits include: "Mini's First Time" (Bold Films), and "American Shopper" (Independent Release). He has scored music for T.V., radio, and even a planetarium. Ed is currently touring nationally as a YAMAHA performing artist and clinician. Ed also endorses Mike Balter mallets.

Accomodations: Band members and spouses

Loading and parking: For up to 4 vehicles nearby site. Large doorways are preferable (35"+, 33" is possible). Elevators need to be 8 feet long.

Stage description: The marimba is 7 1/2 feet long, the vibraphone is 5 feet long, and the band needs a stage area of at least 12' X 12'.

Mikes: 10-12 (dep. on size of band-all booms, if possible )

Directs: 3-4.
